Matt Schaubroeck for ioAirFlow
Building on last month's accelerator announcement, ioAirFlow has now also been accepted into the Plug and Play Smart Cities 2021 cohort, as one of only 16 members chosen globally for the Real Estate & Construction stream. Startups are selected based by Plug and Play's corporate partners based on their ability to have an impact within their industry, and who they are interested in pursuing pilot partnerships with. We've started the matchmaking process for these pilot opportunities, and hope to have more good news to share here soon.
We have also wrapped up our time in the Cascadia Cleantech Accelerator, where we won an award for Best Customer Discover Process and Execution. A big thank you to the Cleantech Alliance and VertueLab for their organizing of the cohort, and for helping us gain traction in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
In September, we completed a number of presentations including:
- A workplace health and safety presentation about air quality and ventilation for Made Safe Manitoba
- An intro to ioAirFlow at the FUEL Conference
- An investor pitch to VANTEC Angel Network (we've been invited back to provide another update next month)
- One of a group of impact-focused startups presenting at the Spring Impact Investor Summit
- A pitch competition at the ASDCup (our first in-person pitch event since 2019!)
There's a variety of technical and investor workshops coming up next month as well - if you're interested in virtually attending any presentation, we tend to share those updates on our social media links (LinkedIn | Twitter).
We've begun reaching out to prospective investors for the next tranche of our seed round. If you know an early-stage investor who's interested in climate tech or prop tech startups, feel free to share our intro deck. If you're looking for a more detailed deck, send me an email and I'd be happy to share that as well.
We didn't confirm any additional sales tests in September - however, given the high number of tests we closed last month we still have a healthy backlog of work to get through.
To help address the overload of work, we're in the process of hiring a Junior Data Analyst - and have already hired a new Building Science Researcher and Junior Software Developer, both of who start next Monday.
ioAirFlow will be hosting a virtual, invitation-only investor demo day in October. We'll be sharing more details very soon. If you or someone you know is interested in attending, please reach out to me and I'll make sure you are included on the invitation list.
