washbnb rents luxury bed and bath linens to the rapidly decentralizing hospitality industry, this includes a lot of boutique hotels and Airbnbs. It’s a scalable linen rental service that includes all the logistics and the laundry. We enable housekeeping teams to do their job faster while upgrading the guest experience with bedding they’d expect to find at the Ritz!
🍑 Team washbnb was in Atlanta last week: Most of the washbnb leadership team was in-person last week at the techstars Atlanta office getting the lay of the land and planning for the growth stage! It was a great, energizing week and we all returned to Milwaukee intent on growth!

Thrilled we get to work with such talented professionals👇🏽
We're starstruck and humbled that such an amazing group of people loved our intro meeting and business opportunity so much that they volunteered to mentor us throughout techstars and beyond!

- "I see the potential in washbnb as well as the need to solve a problem in a space that doesn’t have a lead brand or competition doing anything similar. The potential to grow and GO forward with an awesome business model is exciting. There are many elements that need to be pulled together to make the structure efficient, repeatable, and profitable. As an Airbnb guest and frequent traveler, I know the potential of looking for the washbnb brand when I am searching for a property would give me an added layer of insight about the quality of the elements for the property and how it is managed."

Atlanta - needs to open new market
- Introductions to Short Term Rental operators, Airbnb hosts, managers/owners of hotels with less than 200 rooms in the metro Atlanta Area
- Flexible warehouse space between 1k-2k square feet ideally located near PCM/midtown. We need a place for box trucks to park and unload and access for large laundry carts to roll in-n-out
- Box Truck or Sprinter Van, purchase or lease
We're completed updating our 2021 revenue with new coding and are excited to share the results! We're currently excluding data from a former customer who we recently dropped due to data and payment issues, thus; we are underreporting actual revenue until those issues are resolved.
2021 Revenue to-date: $48K (July +15.7%)
2021 Reservations Covered to-date: 2,083 (July +17%)
July Units with Revenue: 69 (-1 *door move-out)
Total revenue is great, but a better metric at measuring washbnb's performance is RevPAD (Revenue per available Door). If you've ever followed a public hotel company you'll likely recognize RevPAR which is a critical metric for operators to measure how much revenue they're generating from each available room. We can't exactly control reservation volume and turnover frequency at our customers doors but by measuring how much revenue each door generates per month we're able to build a cost structure to profitably support the business and then measure that performance over time for insights on how to improve it.
We built washbnb around achieving RevPAD $150, or $1,800/year. In our Wefunder campaign we outlined a path to achieve $150 in 3 years, so it's super promising to see data supporting much higher revenue during a busy summer for travel. In fact, one customer with 10 doors achieved* $325 RevPad for July! 📈🏦
*when our customers achieve a high bill with washbnb it's because their business is performing at its peak. washbnb does not take money out of our customers pockets, it enables them to make more of it.
Data through August 18
After a week of planning with most of the team in Atlanta we are fired up to hit the streets and start adding doors under contract! With some very exciting pitch's coming up with marquee customers I expect these numbers to start shooting up in the next few weeks.

- Our techstars family (Dave Payne, Hannah Turner & De'Havia Stewart): for continuing to work day-in and out to keep our program running smoothly while stopping at nothing to support as friends, leaders, and founders.
- Bill Boulden & Anders Lillevik: from our techstars cohort for finding time for social activities like house music and dancing on weekends. I'm grateful for the hospitality and friendship which go a long way to combat burnout and loneliness while so far from home!
- Alexa Shacklerford from Breathing Back to You: Alexa and I met serendipitously at a cafe in Atlanta last weekend and connected on California upbringings. She's also a Breathwork Coach and I've been hearing about the benefits anecdotally through books and podcasts over the past few years. I engaged her for a 90-minute breathwork session with team washbnb (+ Alikiah) as a teambuilding exercise focused on vulnerability and mental health. Alexa was an incredible guide for the five of us first-timers, leading each of us through a transformational experience that was both exhausting and energizing at the same time! I highly recommend this for just about anyone but especially those of us with high-stress work or home lives. Feel free to contact her directly to learn more or I'm happy to share more about our experience.
- Tammie Hood and Tom Bresson from UHS Linen: Tammie and Tom welcomed us with open arms to their impressive laundry facility in Austell, GA, where they exclusively process fine hospitality linens from hotel partners from four states! As we race towards getting Atlanta opened we're thrilled to have a potential partner that truly understands both the hospitality and laundry businesses. It was clear from the start that they operate a community oriented business and took the time to give us the deep dive on their plant, systems, people, and the history of industrial laundry in the Southeast. Here are some photos from our visit!
